October 2016 Showcase Cinemas Student Athlete of the Month
Noelle Cooke from Barrington High School, and Benjamin Drezek from Cumberland High School, have been named winners of the Showcase Cinemas Athlete of the Month for October 2016.
A senior at Barrington High School, Noelle, has demonstrated great leadership and sportsmanship throughout her high school career and is currently Captain of the Girls’ Volleyball Team and East Bay Row Team. An active member of her school and community, Noelle serves as her Treasurer of the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Bayouth Club. Noelle maintains a 4.1665 in scale of 4.3 Scholar Athlete; chosen as one of three female scholar athletes from Barrington High and she was presented with the Smith Book Award “in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and leadership.” She is a member of the National Honor Society and has received Highest Honors.
A senior at Cumberland High School, Ben, participates in Boys’ Cross Country and Boys’ Track. He is currently one of the Captains of the Boys’ Cross Country team, member of the National Honor Society and member of the Cumberland High Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse Club. An active member of his school and community, Ben helps at local road races and assisted in cleanup activities at the Cumberland Monastery and trail maintenance. An honors student throughout his career, Ben is ranked in the top ten of a class of over 300 and was selected as the Wendy’s Heisman Award winner for Rhode Island. He has verbally committed to UMass Lowell.
